14 days post-op

I had my stitches removed on February 10th which was very nice. I could then take a shower and get it wet without having to wear a big cast protector around my foot and leg.  The doctor thought my incision looked good and said I could begin some aquatherapy and physical therapy soon.    My foot had been feeling very sore and the burning, tingling pain was increasing making it difficult to sleep well.  I was put on a high dosage of Neurontin to get through this period.  Dr. Parker said it could take 3-6 months for the nerves to settle down.  After being handled so much during the decompression this is common but it is rather aggravating to be in worse pain than before the surgery.  Patience...Patience I have to keep reminding myself.
